Out: Are you envious of the Father's Mercy? Pentecost 14: Sept 18

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

Congratulations to Eric and Sarah Morgan on the arrival of their new daughter "Gianna" yesterday! Sarah shared that "Gianna was born Friday at 4:19pm! 7lbs 15.5 oz and 20 inches. After being at Mott's Hospital for 44 hrs we had an emergency C-section; not what we wanted or planned, but God kept her safe and she's healthy!" We are so thankful for the Lord's protection and pray for both Sarah and Eric to get rest and enjoy their first few days with Gianna!

Tomorrow is going to be a great day for us to celebrate the amazing Love of our God shown to us in Christ Jesus! I look forward to worshiping with all of you tomorrow!

At 9am we will begin with the Christian Education for all ages. At 9:15 I will lead the Adults and Parents in a really cool study by "True U" looking at the truth of the Bible as God's inspired historic book.

At 10:15 we will have a great worship time and we will be looking at the words of Isaiah, the prophet whose name means "the Lord SAVES," sharing with us how simple the message we are asked to share with the world is to share with others as we grow in our UP, IN and OUT.  Isaiah 55:6-7 states the GOOD NEWS: 6 Seek the LORD while he may be found; call on him while he is near. 7 Let the wicked forsake his way and the evil man his thoughts. Let him turn to the LORD, and he will have mercy on him, and to our God, for he will freely pardon. What simple and yet powerful message! It is so hard for many to understand because they do not understand the ways and thoughts of our God: Isaiah 55:8-9 8 “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the LORD. 9 “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. We will look at the Parable of the workers to try to explain the Love and Grace that the Lord has for us and all for whom Jesus died. Check it out in Matthew 20:1-16. It is not fair and yet we belong to this wonderful God, we believe in HIS mercy and grace and want to become more like HIM each day!

At 10:30 Norma Polk will lead a study with College Students in the fellowship hall.

At 11:35 we will have the Congregational Meeting to elect our Council members and introduce to you David and Beth Marshall who are being called to Cross and Resurrection as Family Life Ministers, in partnership with the Word of God who is going to provide their salary (a very small part time salary), so that they will be part of our team. We will benefit from their work with Warriors (Middle School on Thursdays) and Mission Christ (High School on Fridays) as we encourage our young people to join in these great ministries just as we partner with University Christian Outreach for College Ministry.

We will have lunch, thanks to the Zuelligs and Chris Stauffer at 11:45. We will have the 12:15 (ish) service and then the ALIVE! Tecumseh service at 4pm.

It is going to a full day but I look forward to seeing what the Lord will do!

Just a note if you want to join me for the Lutheranism 101, proposed for Monday nights starting soon, please let me know if you wish to attend because with construction actually started we will be need to decide if we will meet on Mondays and where? Please send me an email or talk to me after services. THERE WILL BE NO STUDY THIS MONDAY.

Love in Christ Jesus our risen Lord,

Pastor
