New events starting this Sunday, September 1st....
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,Today we will interview four followers of Jesus who will share how their faith affects their lives and how they have experienced being mentored and mentoring! We just finished our summer teaching series on Mentoring/Discipleship as we start the year with a desire to be a family of Jesus Followers who grow in Discipleship!
In the series we looked at Biblical examples of Mentoring/Discipleship: Moses and Jethro, Moses and Joshua, Paul and Barnabas, Paul and Timothy, Paul, Demas and Luke, Paul and John Mark etc.... We are planning to hear real life examples in our own Body of Christ this Sunday!
We will be doing some exciting things this week. We welcome the new students today and tomorrow. Freshmen will be doing orientation tomorrow. We are committed to finding ways to engage and welcome students into our Cross and Res family.
STARTING THIS SUNDAY: we will have our 10:30 EPIC Service in the Fellowship Hall during our Living Praise Service in the Sanctuary. This new Service is designed to be Experiential, Participatory, Image-rich, and Connective with a very simple format. We will have 2 songs, Bible Reading, Teaching, Prayer and 2 closing songs. The Service will end at 11:15. So it will end before the meals start at 11:35. We hope students and others will choose this service if they find our Blended Service, which begins at 10:15, a little bit complicated with liturgy and Communion. Invite a friend and join us!
NEXT SUNDAY: we begin our Christian Education Hour at 9:10 with Sunday School for Children, Confirmation for our young people and a study of the Tabernacle offered by me with our Pre-Service Prayer and Worship happening in the Sanctuary.... Our meals will start next Sunday and they will begin at 11:35. Wednesdays at 8pm we will have a time of Worship and Prayer for Students... There will be other activities advertised in the bulletin and on facebook for students.
Please plan to join us for the Series starting next Sunday: "HIStory: The basics of Faith." This school year we will be looking at HIS story: BELONG (our Relationship UP,) YOUR Story: BELIEVE (our relationship IN,) and OUR story: BECOME (our relationship OUT.) We our excited that the fourth weekend in September we will have our "BE 'PNEUMAnauts:' growing in the Spirit Retreat" for all of us to spend time in the Word and Prayer..."Astronauts are sailors of the stars," "Cosmonauts are sailors of the Cosmos." We want to be Sailors of the Holy Spirit for it is an amazing adventure! Plan to join us Friday Sept 27th at 6pm to Sept 28th at 9pm for a time of renewal and immersion in the Spirit. We are going to see what the Lord wants HIS Church and us HIS people.
We are looking forward to what the Lord will do this year!
Can't wait to join you all in Worshiping our Lord as Covenant People who are Obedient because of our Identity in the Father and Kingdom People who walk in the King's Authority and experience HIS Power.
